Partner presentation related to the project
University "Dunarea de Jos" of Galati is the largest university in the South East of Romania. It assumes the task of preparing specialists in various fields of engineering, economic and social that are actively in supporting technology transfer, science transmission and culture dissemination. Also, it provides training for professionals within and outside academic community by specialization courses and training. It has about 14400 enrolled students (undergraduate, master and doctoral) and 15 faculties. The university has developed skills and Bologna-process based curricula relevant to the economic and social needs national and local level, and it is actively involved in a large number of European programs both for research and cooperation. Its Mechanical Engineering Faculty comprises 4 specialized departments, 7 undergraduate and 5 master modules. The undergraduate modules for road vehicles and thermal systems are especially dedicated to the vehicle industry and maintenance.
Partner role in the project
University “Dunarea de Jos” of Galati, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, will contribute to the project in many ways given its experience in relevant fields such as curricula development, fundamental and applied research to reduce environmental impact of industrial systems, saving resources, industrial technologies and maintenance, design of environmental protection solutions, providing consultation and technical assistance related to mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Therefore, it will participate in this project assuming its role for identifying the needs of local maintenance sector, participating in training activities regarding the basics of vehicle systems, developing of a new curricula for engineering students and for professional training, providing expertise and didactical material in the field of vehicle maintenance, and building of sustainable interface between academic and professional in the field of road vehicle maintenance.
